Winners Grab Dog Books for Kids

Dog Lovers Reading
It's so heartwarming to see your enthusiasm for these children's book giveaways. Anything that contributes to a bond between kids and their dogs is a positive thing as far as I'm concerned. And what's more, kids are getting more practice at this extremely important skill. It's a Win-Win.

Today we'll be handing off 6 early readers, written for kids from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. Each features a dog character and both stories are simply adorable.

What I'm especially loving about these 2 titles I just happened to select is that they have a soft tie in to our #Pet1stAid Twitter Party on this coming Tuesday, September 10 at 8 PM ET. I hope you'll join us for a fun evening, learning about best practices of first aid for your pets, and winning terrific prizes.

Don't forget to RSVP at the link above to let us know you'd like to join in, as well as to enter your name in a drawing from that list. The winner will take away a great stash of first aid supplies by Dr. Emmo's and other items that are perfect for travel or an evacuation kit. Learn how to get prepared for a disaster at this event.

Now let's name our winners. Congratulations to Ruckus Eskie, Jessica B., Jason D., Kt Amanda, Deanna T., and Jeannette S. You'll hear from AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com tonight. Please reply promptly with your shipping address and your book will be shipped next week. Happy reading!

Read Aloud Favorites Share Love of Dogs
We have enjoyed watching you all select your favorites based on the titles. Thanks for participating in this giveaway and let's get down to the business of naming some winners.

Four families will each receive a copy of one of these great read aloud stories for children. As a dog lover, sharing my love of dogs with my own kids was a favorite part of the day. I hope each of you will enjoy reading these books to a special youngster in your life.

Congratulations to Tiffany T., Allie G., Danielle M., and Katie J. You'll each receive an email from AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com. Please place this email address in your contacts to assure that we don't find your spam file :)

These children's dog stories were purchased by me at my own expense. I encourage you to read to your children, grandchildren and any child in your life. Reading is an acquired skill that gets better with practice, even when read aloud by an adult. Enjoy!

Dog Stories for Early Readers: Win One!

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Easy Readers for K-2 Kids
Helping young readers enjoy the process of practicing and learning to read has a lot to do with giving them books that motivate them. Dog stories are very popular with young children at this stage. This giveaway is designed for kids who are just beginning to read on their own, although still with help from you. Maybe your dog can join too?

During our last giveaway, one enterprising reader sent us the photo below of her beautiful big boy, Vlad, enjoying a story read by her grandchildren. Isn't is just wonderful to imagine watching this scene unfold?!!!

I enjoyed receiving that photo more than you can know. It brought back memories of my own kids growing up. Such fun! Let's do it again...

This giveaway will include 3 copies of each of the two titles you see in the photo at the top: Strike Three, Marley! and Ouch! It Hurts! Entries will be open through midnight Thursday, September 5. Winners will be announced Friday afternoon, September 6.

That persnickety Rafflecopter may play dead under the spiral staircase again, but you can always tickle it by clicking on the post title at the top. It will jump up and help you join in the fun. Best of wishes to everyone who enters.

Happy tails,

We Have Winners!

Summer reading doesn't get any better than this for children who love dogs. My book giveaways have been very popular lately, so I've already started up another one. Check it out here.

Today we have 3 winners who will each receive a copy of this beautiful hardcover book. It's a perfect gift for a young one, and also a great read aloud.

If you're not a winner today, you may wish to check out Amazon for an easy option to buy this book from the comfort of your living room. Ya gotta love Internet shopping :)

Congratulations to Dee, Linda G., and Vicki V. You'll receive an email from AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com. Put our email address in your contacts to make sure your announcement doesn't get stuck in your spam filter. We're having a bit of a problem with that lately. Can you believe the alligator toys from last week have not all been claimed yet? Go figure!

Dogs Do Summer Reading Too!

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Great Read Alouds for Kids and Dogs Alike
These 4 storybooks about dogs are ideal for reading aloud. With large, beautiful illustrations, children's imaginations will grow and they will begin to love dogs as much as you and I. I encourage you to read daily to your children for as long as they will allow it. I'm convinced that this practice has been a significant part of many children's success in reading and education.

The stories in this collection include Skippyjon Jones and the Big Bones, My Big Dog, Zoomer and Always in Trouble. If you'd prefer instant access to any of these stories online--they're dirt cheap--just click the link and you can order them from Amazon. Otherwise, I invite you to enter to win them here. Four winners will each receive 1 book for their child.

As always our Rafflecopter may being playing dead. All you have to do to revive it is click on the post title. It's like CPR for Rafflecopters :)  You'll be free to enter through Thursday, August 15 and winners will be announced on Friday, August 16. Good luck!
