Flush Puppies flushable dog waste bags have been provided to All Things Dog Blog for promotion by giveaway. I was not compensated to offer this giveaway or to share information about this product. I do use Flush Puppies in my own home and love that we are not adding immeasurably to the waste bags in landfills.

Treats and other items in this giveaway were acquired as conference swag and are being passed along to you. Readership has its perks. :)

The Easter bunny ears used in the photos were provided by Petco for an earlier promotion. Thanks Petco!

Win AirSpeed Exact Pet Eureka Vacuum

by Carrie Boyko, CEB
#EurekaPower Offers Quick Clean Up
As usual, I've got another pet mess. And this one was actually my own fault! While wrapping up a Doga session that I tried (and failed) to record, I managed to spill the treats all over the floor as I was opening them to reward the dogs for joining me. The camera was running so I took advantage of the situation and tested out the new Eureka AirSpeed EXACT Pet vacuum I received for review. What a breath of fresh air when the vacuum sucked up all the treats before the dogs could do the cleanup and find themselves with tummy aches from too many goodies. Watch our experience in the video below and be sure to read our review here.

After the above positive experience I tackled cat litter and Tanner's favorite napping spot. The Pet Power Paw attachment was quite impressive, whirring to a start like a Harley Davidson and quickly cleaning up Tanner's fur that generally sticks to fabrics quite determinedly. That was great news for this pet lover!
The Pet Power Paw in Action

I was also pleased to find an air filter inside that can be washed out and reinserted. No need to purchase filter after filter. This is not only a greener filter, it's great for trapping those tiny particles of allergans at this time of year--pollen and the like--that keep our noses running! We definitely want to remove those nasties and wash them down the drain, or better yet, bury them in the garden.

The nice folks at Eureka are offering you, my readers, a chance to win one of two Eureka AirSpeed EXACT Pet vacuums. Of course, if you'd prefer to just go out and buy one, they're available at your nearby Walmart. Check them out at this link for more details. You can enter using the Rafflecopter widget at the bottom of the post. If it's hiding, just coax it out by clicking on the post title. It will come out immediately to help you join in. Good luck to all of your furry families, and thank you for noting that this giveaway is for U.S. families only. I don't make the rules; but it's up to me to follow them. Thank you for your understanding :)

All Ears Open for Petco Prizes!

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Which Season is This Again?
I think Tanner knew what was coming when this package arrived even though it said "Top Secret" on the box. Easter is not far away now, and somedoggy has to pull a rabbit out of the box. You're it, Tanner! Let's give away some Valentine's goodies, even though they are a bit late. Who doesn't love to celebrate this special day for loving our dogs? We do!

Oliver Takes Inventory
While Tanner Watches for UPS
As usual with our Petco prize groupings, I've got a couple of sized items to hand off--one for the fellas and one for the gals. I can't replace sizes, so please know that you must share your dog's weight and sex in order to qualify for the drawing. Comments with this information are mandatory!

The black hoodie for a boy dog clearly says "Loverboy" on the shirt--va va va voom!  And the ruffled dress is emblazoned with hearts for a romance-loving female. Since these 2 wearables will need to go to medium-sized dogs, I'm designating two duos of toys--one for our pint-sized pups like Oliver, and the other for the big and bigger dogs. You know who you are! Two of the toys are Valentine's themed and two we'll say fall into the miscellaneous category.

These items are but a hint at the many cute things you'll find in your local Petco store--rabbit ears included. After all, every house needs an Easter Bunny!  You have so many choices for learning about Petco's collection that it's almost dizzying. Visit their website, Facebook page, Twitter stream, Pinterest page, and YouTube channel to learn more about their latest fun products.

Now let's give away a few here. You know the drill. Enter via the Rafflecopter at the bottom of the page. If it's busy napping, just click on the post title to awaken it. Once it's up you'll be able to select your choice of entry methods. Remember to keep it fun. And good luck to your dogs.

Entries will remain open through midnight Monday, February 24. Watch for our winner announcement on Tuesday, February 25.

Emptying the Natural Balance Shelf

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

You're Giving it All Away? No!!!!!

Spring is on the horizon for those of us in Florida, although I realize that many of you may be shaking your heads and wondering which planet I live on. Our 74 degrees as I write this is probably not even a dream for many of you. Nevertheless, I have begun to think about Spring Cleaning. This can and does include checking the expiration dates for all edible samples, pet food, and treats that I have received from sponsors, swag bags and the like. I hope you will regularly do the same for your pet's health and safety.

Today I'm kicking off a giveaway that features Natural Balance products. You'll find two prize packages detailed on the Rafflecopter below. Both Fido and Fluffy have a chance to win in this fun giveaway, so jump right in if you have either a dog or a cat in your home.

The Rafflecopter entries include a variety of options for social media involvement. Pick your favorites, or use them all. It's your choice, but do remember that this is all for fun. Only use those entry methods that you find enjoyable to make sure you're always smiling when you're entering. :)

During these months of snow, rain and generally unacceptable walking weather, I'm sure at least some of you could make use of these goodies that are an overflow on my own shelves. The dog treats will be a perfect reward at training time, which is a great way to keep your dog active and busy when the weather doesn't allow for outdoor play.

This giveaway will remain open for entry for 2 weeks, closing at midnight Sunday, February 23. I'll announce the winners on Monday, February 24. Be sure to stop by and see who the lucky dog and cat owners are. Maybe you!

As you begin your entries to win the goodies in this photo, here's an important tip. The Rafflecopter is a wonderful tool, but can sometimes hide beneath the social media icons below, not coming out to do its job. It will Come When Called if you do it this way:  Click on the post title above to refresh this post, and you'll find that the Rafflecopter will wag its tail and be ready to play again.

Sing Along: Dog on a 10 Foot Chain

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Amended Post: See note at bottom in red if you would like to be considered for the prize.
 Buffer

Grab your tissues and sing Donna Hughes' song with me:

Nothing to look forward to
Watching cars go by all day
Nothing to play with, nothing to do
Shivering in the cold hard rain

They forget to bring me water
They forget that I am here
They don't know how smart I am
They don't even see my tears

What did I do wrong, what did I do?
I just want someone to love me, because I love you
Whatever it is I did wrong, maybe I can change
No one knows how hard it is, how hard it is to be. . . a dog on a 10 foot chain

Sometimes it's hard to stay cool
On a blazing hot summer day
I dream of crossing the stream
And catching a fish as the sunlight fades

It's hard to stay warm in the winter
Some nights it's hard to be strong
I dream of chasing butterflies
And rabbits all day long

Bridge:
The world is big and beautiful
But I'll never see it all
Maybe when I go to Heaven
Someone will throw me a red ball

Did you love this? Please share it. Here's some help on Twitter. Just click the RT button:
Are you, like Donna and myself, saddened when you see a dog chained up for hours on end? Donna is working to help bring others to this same conclusion. Please share your ideas for getting the word out. We would love to use any any all that can diplomatically help educate the public--no yelling or name-calling; just soft-spoken action.

I'll toss you a bone for incentive. I have a beautiful reddish-orange collar and leash avaialable to one winner who leaves a well thought out idea for helping to get the word out--something that is doable, not expensive, and can easily be employed by many of us. Turn on your creative switch! All entries by comment below will be considered. The idea deemed the best by one of my rescue friends will be named the winner.

Entries will be accepted through midnight Thursday, February 20. I'll announce the winning idea and the winner on Friday, February 21.

Tanner is modeling the prize. The collar is adjustable and will fit most medium to large dogs. If a small dog owner wins, I'll substitute a lighter weight leash. A petite or extra large dog will receive the leash alone, and the collar will find another home where it is useful. Good luck and thank you for putting on your thinking caps!

Note to participants:  Please leave a form of contact (preferably not your email) so that I may locate you if you win. Try Twitter, Facebook, Google+. Finally, you can email me at AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com so that I'll be able to find you that way. Thank you and good luck! You're doing a great job generating ideas. Keep up the good work.
