A Dog Story for the Child in All of Us: What about Daisy?

What About Daisy?
As parents we try to teach our children that being different does not make others "bad". It's a hard lesson, and one that parents often struggle with, as well. What about Daisy? shares a mother dog's worrisome adventure to find her pup a loving furever home. However, Daisy, her pup, is an unusual puppy. She doesn't play with her litter mates, come running when called, or show interest in much of anything. This worries Ms. Didi, her mother.

With a little help from friends along the way, Ms. Didi sets out to find a home for Daisy, her deaf and blind puppy. Author Maryam Faresh was inspired to write Daisy's story by her own, real-life Daisy. Daisy won the WAG award for the Most Inspirational Dog in 2010, and the 2011 Barkcode Hero Award. You can learn more about this amazing dog and her story at the website for What About Daisy?

This tugs at my heart because my 4 pups are all rescue dogs with their own unique stories....Sully needed a home because his owner was away all the time, Smudge was thrown into a lake and left there, Pip was a stray with barely any hair left and Paxton lived with 183 other dogs in a hoarder house....I love them all and would read this story out loud to them!!

Patti: I believe your dogs would understand the story from your emotion. That is why you are such a great "dog person". Your empathy runs deep.

I love inspirational dog stories. We can learn a lot of wonderful lessons from dogs. I have two nephews, one turning 1 year old at the end of this month and the other turning 1 in mid August. I think my sisters, who are also dog lovers, would love to get this book for their sons.
