Dogs Win Scents of Security

by Carrie Boyko, CEB
Great Snuggle Time with Scents of Security
Tanner has certainly enjoyed doing this review, and even more so now that he knows he'll be able to keep the sample. He has been sleeping with it, so I guess that rather makes for a done deal. We can't hand off his slobber to our winners, even though he may think that's a compliment to them--allowing them to have his special new lovey.

Today is a very special day in another way as well. If you'll notice up there in the lower right hand corner of the photo, I've got a watermark with my blog's url. That's my copyright to this photo. This is something I'll be working to add on my new photos, while slowly replacing older photos with it as well. So far so good thanks to my friend Sam who has patiently helped me get this ball on the road. Thank you Sam!

Today's winners will receive their Scents of Security toy from me soon after I get their address. Our winners are Cynthia (cox.net) and Emily E. Email your address to me at AllThingDogBlog@gmail.com and I'll get on it next week. We hope your dog enjoys this toy as much as Tanner does his.

For those of you who were not winners today, I recommend you try the following methods for locating this toy:

And finally, if winning fun things for your dog is high on your list, join us for #Coupaween on Tuesday, October 1 at 8 PM ET for this Twitter Party that will be dishing Halloween safety tips, $25 Coupaw credits to 17 winners and a Grand Prize that will include a custom pet portrait. Don't forget to RSVP here. You really don't want to miss this one!

Scents of Security Toy Rehoming Begins

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Nope; It's Mine!
Ok, well, you're just going to have to deal with this. We got 3 Scents of Security toys and Tanner has claimed the one in the photo. I wasn't going to argue with that imploring face. And the paw says it all!

If you read our review, you already know that Tanner figured out this toy before I even

gave it to him. I was flabbergasted! Now we have a new problem. It appears that Oliver likes the toy also and the two boys have been passing it back and forth in a new game I'll call "Right Now It's Mine". I better get busy and locate another one quick; Oliver doesn't stand a chance against Tanner's ability to hide it in place Oliver cannot go.

I've hidden the two giveaways and the boys do not seem to know they are there. There's no articles of clothing inside them to give them away. So you should be good to go on entering to win the 2 I've stowed.

Entries will continue through Thursday, September 26 and winners will be announced on Friday, September 27. If the Rafflecopter is persnickety about appearing below, just tickle it by clicking on the post title above and it will wake up and help you make your entries. Good luck to you all!

Petlinks provided me with 3 Scents of Security toys to review and give away. I'm afraid one will remain behind. Does that tell you how much we liked it? The opinions of my reviewers and myself were not swayed by any compensation nor by the free toy.

Give Your Dog a Sense of Security

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Please Don't Take it Away, Mom

Yes, I realize this is a play on words. The Petlinks company did this on purpose, no doubt-
-pretty clever, I think. It's also dead-on accurate. Since we are featuring this toy in tonight's Twitter Party I decided to give it a once over with Tanner. He's my toy boy. No word games here; he's not my boy toy! He just loves toys.

your dog. Personally, I think this toy would be welcomed by your kitty, as well. He'll immediately discover your scent and feel safer and more secure as if you are right there with him. Good idea, but we had to test it for ourselves. Here's how it played out:

I took a review sample of the Scents of Security toy and put a Tshirt inside it. One side of the square has a strong Velcro closure to retain your clothing inside. I placed the toy on my desk to remind myself to run a photo shoot of Tanner's first experience with it. That opportunity came before I intended, however. While I made lunch in the kitchen, Tanner discovered the toy and took it, hounding my scent. He carried it into the kitchen and stood looking at me as if to confirm that in fact I was not inside the toy. I
howled with laughter and ran for the camera.

He dropped to the living room floor and gave me the serious look you see above. I know this boy pretty well and I'd suggest that he was telling me that he does not want me to take the toy away. He would give it up if necessary, but he wouldn't want to.

I told him he could have the toy with a "Take It" command and he began to sniff and smell and nuzzle the toy as if it were a tiny kitten. What a joy it was to watch him, as if he were snuggling with me at bedtime. I can see how he will enjoy this toy in my absence. It looks like I'll be seeking one for Oliver too!

Petmate Fetch Toys: Great Giveaway!

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Bribery Works Sometimes
If you know anything about my Tanner, it's probably that he's Fetch crazy. This dog would play Fetch all day if my arm was up to it. When these Bonkers arrived, he had his eye on them.  He sniffed and prodded and gave me that look. You know; the one that is pleading for me to toss the toy into the pool to give him permission to Fetch it.

Now that you know that, you're probably wondering how I managed to get a smiling shot, right?  Well, the answer is bribery. After he picked one of the toys up and I got a very willing "Drop It" from him, I treated him to reward this behavior.

With his interest piqued, I decided to grab a shot while he was eager to please. Holding that treat in front of my forehead, he happily posed with the prizes. Three fun toys for 3 lucky winners to Fetch the day away.

Want a Petmate Bonker for your dog? You can enter to win one here, or get the sure thing version by buying your own. Visit the Petmate website to locate the toy of your dog's delight and then touch base with them at Facebook and Twitter to learn more, answer questions, follow the conversation and find out where to purchase the toy in your area.

Enter to win here in the Rafflecopter form below the post. If it's not appearing down  there, you'll need to Fetch it by clicking on the post title. I promise it will appear at your feet immediately. Good luck!

These Petmate samples were provided as a giveaway by the company. My comments about them were not prompted by material written by them and I was not paid to share my opinion or run this giveaway.
