Blog the Change for Petfinder

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Blog the ChangeBlog the Change Day is here and All Things Dog Blog is on the case. We're all wrapped up in a charity fundraiser to help Petfinder Foundation with their work to assist shelters and aid in adoptions. You can make an executive decision right now to be part of the solution by clicking the link to make a donation--small or large--to Petfinder Foundation. Your money will help homeless pets find forever families. What could be more rewarding?

Our event, co-sponsored with Dogtipper.com by our social media events partnership, is called Super Dog Sunday™. That name rolls right off your tongue, doesn't it?! Super Dog Sunday™ is a football-themed photo contest that allows entries of pets as well as themed Petfinder adoptable photos. These can be themed using photo editing techniques, hand artwork or any other methods. We're just happy to have them promoted with their name and a profile page url. We hope to be as lucky as last year and get a few of our promoted Petfinder pets adopted as a result of our efforts.

This photo contest's funds go 100% to Petfinder Foundation. We have a nice lineup of sponsors that have supported Petfinder with cash donations, as well as providing prizes for our photo contest winners. As one of the sponsors, Event Barkers is donating prizes and all our labor to make this event happen. You'll find a list of all the sponsors' social media details below; please check them out and visit them to say thank you. I know they will appreciate your comments.

To help us with Super Dog Sunday™ this year, Event Barkers has also formed a Cheer Team of social media enthusiasts to help promote the event. We're so proud to have a team of dedicated bloggers and Twitterers that are willing to share our passion and pass it on to all of you. Thank you to all of you who volunteered as Cheer Team members. You're a terrific support system for our efforts at Event Barkers, and can count yourself as part of the solution! Thanks for helping Event Barkers Be the Change!

Doggie New Year's Inspiration: Ricochet is Back

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Grab your tissues. This video is a testament to realizing the potential of a dog. Ricochet has done amazing things with her surfing skills--raising funds for many causes.

While Tanner and Oliver are not surf dogs, they use their skills to help me educate you. They demonstrate behaviors, pose for product reviews, and sometimes just get 'caught in the act' of being silly....for entertainment! That is their service, and I am proud of them for that.

I hope when you look at your dog, you are able to find a way to be proud of her, and pat yourself on the back for that. You create what your dog becomes. Be the Change you want to see in your dog. It's a New Year--go for it!

Fido Friendly Magazine Takes Dog Talk One Step Beyond

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Is it Too Late
 to Enter the Photo Contest?
Recently when I had the opportunity to guest post with Fido Friendly's Blog, I learned first hand just why their print magazine is so special. Taking dog talk to the lifestyle level, Fido Friendly covers topics such as travel, wellness, health, and even fashion, along with the usual training and dog care advice that most magazines dole out as a regular routine.

Fido Friendly has carved out a niche for themselves as the elite magazine for dog lovers, and along the way has befriended their online peers--bloggers--and become a part of their ranks, as well.

Taking up the torch of helping the rescues, Fido Friendly has engaged themselves in a Cross-country adoption tour cleverly named "Get Your Licks on Route 66". A rather radical approach to pet adoption, this campaign operates from an RV that tours 7 states along the famed Route 66, building awareness and helping with shelter events along the way. Teaming up with the North Shore Animal League America, Fido Friendly is out to make a difference.

Wondering how they did with this interesting venture? You can check their Tour Route here or visit posts like those at the following links of both the North Shore Animal League and Fido Friendly.

In their own way, Fido Friendly is helping with the Be the Change effort, started by the Blogpaws group, a fun bunch of pet bloggers that just want to make a difference. Welcome aboard, Fido Friendly

Would you, my readers, like to try out a FREE copy of Fido Friendly Magazine? I have 2 recent copies that will go to two lucky readers who can answer this question:

In a recent edition of Fido Friendly
a photo contest showed off the dogs'
 ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___.

It's okay. You can cheat and look it up in their online version. The first two correct answers left here as comments will win. Ready...Set...Go!

Want to subscribe to Fido Friendly? Click the ad here and you'll be done in a jiffy!

Pet Charities Funded and Prize Package Awarded from MANKINDdog™

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

© courtesy MANKINDdog™
Gotham and Phil Welcome Visitors

It was a leap of faith to take on this fundraiser and promo even with MANKINDdog™, being the passionate and dedicated company that they are. Did I mention that they have a furry support staff of 7? If you visited their site, you've already met Gotham, the spectacular Mastiff on their header.

It's time to wrap up this campaign. MANKINDdog™ will be offering a gift to their local Humane Society in Nogales, Arizona, in response to the blog links that came in to help us raise money for this struggling organization. And me, well, I plan to give A New Beginning  my donation. Their windfall of 257 Labs has continued to tug at my heart. Thank you to the folks at Cesar Canine Cuisine for matching our fundraising dollars. This will make for a much happier holiday for these dogs in need. Cesar Canine Cuisine has been extremely supportive of All Things Dog Blog; be sure to watch for upcoming giveaways of their products and some adorable Tshirts too!

MANKINDdog's prize package, well advertised on my site, as well as Facebook, has been earned by someone from my own ranks. Congratulations to Yvonne DiVita of Scratchings and Sniffings, for her winning raffle entry. Yvonne will get the following prize package: a MANKINDdog™ canvas tote bag filled with 2 boxes of organic dog treats, a dog sculpture, a MANKINDdog™ coffee mug, a MANKINDdog™ Tshirt, and an Isola Luce candle. Congratulations, Yvonne, you earned it!

I have some thank yous to offer to those of you who supported me in getting the word out with your blogs. If you linked to our original blog post and notified me where you did this, I thank you for your help. Each link earned more money for our chosen charities, so you can be proud that you followed through on your promise to "Be the Change." If I have missed you in the following list, feel free to send me the link to your post and I will amend it.

These bloggers, some new friends, and others simply met via the Internet, have helped me to work toward a goal. For that I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. When you need me, I'll be there for you. I am easily reachable at LetsAdoptaDogPark@gmail.com anytime you need a paw up. I'd like to help you Be the Change as well.

I am aware that a good number of my fellow bloggers Tweeted about this charity fundraiser and I would be amiss not to thank them as well, although I cannot thank them by name. As the folks at Freaky Dog People say; "You know who you are."

Thank you also to the folks at MANKINDdog™ for offering this opportunity to show off their wonderful products and upstanding business practices. They have been a joy to work with and I thank them for enduring all the bumps in the road, as well as the small successes we enjoyed together. It was a journey of learning and spreading my wings, and one in which I am pleased to have had a partner. Happy tails!

P.S. Be sure to stop in at 5 Minutes for Fido, where Tanner and Oliver are ready to take some time off from all this latest hoopla. I suppose I wore them out with all the photos, bandana fun and even the Woof and Meow series. Have you missed it? Follow the link to the latest post and all the links are at the bottom. Enjoy!
