Mutt Monday Salutes Presidents Day

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

While much of our Nation is taking a day off, Mutt Monday will be working hard to get ideas out there for patriotic holidays such as Presidents' Day. Red, white and blue will prevail.

With the end of a very warm Winter in sight, we're gearing up for even more swimming. The pool will be busier than ever, and given the action it has seen this very warm Winter, we'll be doing some extra cleaning of the filter and such to keep it safe from dog fur death. We have our tricks for that too!

Before I forget, let's mention that next week's theme is

Spring Tips for Pups of All Ages

Quiet days off for those of you lucky enough to have them, mean time to bond and enjoy your dog in more ways. Feel free to visit our Weekly Wag column where I share tips for bonding and bonding stories that you may nod your head over. This feature runs each Saturday. Mutt Monday Valentine Ideas

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Just in time for Valentines Day we're sharing ideas for treats, bonding time and more.  What better day than Valentines to bond with Fido, but how? Of course your dog loves goodies, but remember that too much of a good thing can end badly. Keep the treats to a minimum, spreading out your surprises over a number of days to protect your pup's delicate tummy.

More than treats, your dog wants time with you. You know it; just look at her imploring expression when you walk out the door without her. Want some new ideas for bonding with Fido? Click on this link to locate Bonding Posts at our Weekly Wag event.

My personal fave? Good question, but Tanner's is the Scent Work post here. Hope you both enjoy this.

Next week, I'm asking pet bloggers to please dig deep into your archives to share posts on

Patriotic Celebrations

Treats for Fido, activities and other topics related to your celebrations will work just fine to offer our readers ideas that will work for President's Day. Have fun with this. I look forward to seeing you next week.
