Bissell Pet Vacuum Winner Earns Great New Solution to Fur Problems

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Sorry, Tanner. It's Not a Toy.

The cat fight for a hand vac prize is now over. A winner has been chosen from comments, Facebook conversations, emails and photos. Thank you all for your participation and interest. I love my new Pet Fur Eraser, and have enjoyed using it to clean my Prius of Tanner and Oliver's shedding. It's great for picking up Patches deposits on her favorite napping spots also. Today, I get to award one to Arlene D'Urso, an All Things Dog Blog Facebook fan who has a houseful of furry friends. She sounds like the perfect recipient, don't you think?!!

For those of you have entered--and not yet won--a drawing here at All Things Dog Blog, fret not. All entries stay in the bucket until drawn, so you could win something next week, next month, or even next year. Keep reading and entering!

There's more good news. I've added another way for you to enter my drawings. If you are not an email subscriber, you can receive my posts FREE of charge via email each day that I post. It's a nice way to keep up with my articles, and will also get you an entry into the drawing bucket.

I do want to remind you, however, that you may want to pop in to the blog now and then to see what's new in the sidebar. I'm always changing things up, adding new resources and bringing on new sponsors. This little blog is on the move. I hope you'll continue to join me for 2011 expansion and lots more great dog content.

If you didn't win the vacuum, and your heart was set on it, you can still order one here:

No More Fur Bunnies with our New "Pet Hair Eraser"

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Is this a Toy, Mom?

My pack and I have been having a little fun on the sidelines with a new toy from Bissell. Anyone with a shedding dog (or two!) knows the difficulty of vacuuming up pet fur from your car. It's one thing to suck up the stuff that collects on hard floors, but automobile carpet is the worst.

Fits Easily Into Oliver's Carseat
 for a Quick Cleanup
Over the years I've had 3 or 4 vacuums that touted themselves as powerful and able to suck up anvils with a single flip of the switch! Not so much. Now I've found my true tool of the trade, the dog-lover's vacuum du jour. Nothing works like this baby.

Baby is probably a key word. Did you notice how small this little thing is? It's cute as a button and will fit just about anywhere. Yet, it comes with a 16-foot cord to reach all the cracks and crevices, and weighs in at only 4 pounds. Amazing!

The trick to its impressive auto carpet suction seems to be the flexible, red nozzle that allows you to squeeze it into hard to get places for great suction. When using it to clean up dry messes on hard floors, pop on the hard nozzle with a narrow tip to quickly eliminate the mess.

Quickly Cleans Up
Oliver's Dog Bed
Finally, this is not one of those appliances that comes with a 30 or 90 day guarantee. You get a full 1 year on this puppy. One more thing I like about this company? They don't hide their phone number--buried in the user's manual in fine print. If you need help, their customer service number is on the back cover in full sized print.  I guess that's why their motto is "We Mean Clean"!

You can check out Bissell's other great pet fur products at their website, or follow them on Facebook or Twitter for more information. You can also get more input at Bissell's pet lover's community. Now, would you like to win a Pet Hair Eraser like mine? This adorable little handvac will be the perfect gift to yourself, or for a pet lover in your life. Are you ready? Here's your entry methods:

  • Comment on this giveaway by using the COMMENTS link at the bottom of the post. Tell me how many pets you have and what type they are.
  • Subscribe to my blog as a new reader and you'll also receive my FREE ebook download, "How to Put Your Dog on a Budget." Maybe you'll get lucky and save money on a handvac too!
  • Get into the conversation on my Facebook page by telling me what you'll use the Pet Hair Eraser for at your home.
  • Feel free to drop me a message through Twitter, and you can follow me there to keep tabs on my upcoming giveaways.
  • Leave a pic of your furry companion on my Facebook page. What's his name?
  • Prefer the privacy of email? It's okay. Drop me a photo of your furry friend to LetsAdoptaDogPark@gmail.com. I'll be sure to show him off!
  • The cutoff for entries will be December 8. We'll choose a winner, announce it on December 9, and try to get the vacuum out in time for the holidays. Be sure to watch the blog on December 9. Good luck!

Just in case you miss out on the drawing, here's another way you can purchase your very own Pet Hair Eraser:

Full disclosure: The Bissell product described in this post has been donated to All Things Dog Blog for an independent review. I have not been paid to provide my opinion of this product, and the opinion provided is my own.
