Dog Lovers Reading
It's so heartwarming to see your enthusiasm for these children's book giveaways. Anything that contributes to a bond between kids and their dogs is a positive thing as far as I'm concerned. And what's more, kids are getting more practice at this extremely important skill. It's a Win-Win.

Today we'll be handing off 6 early readers, written for kids from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. Each features a dog character and both stories are simply adorable.

What I'm especially loving about these 2 titles I just happened to select is that they have a soft tie in to our #Pet1stAid Twitter Party on this coming Tuesday, September 10 at 8 PM ET. I hope you'll join us for a fun evening, learning about best practices of first aid for your pets, and winning terrific prizes.

Don't forget to RSVP at the link above to let us know you'd like to join in, as well as to enter your name in a drawing from that list. The winner will take away a great stash of first aid supplies by Dr. Emmo's and other items that are perfect for travel or an evacuation kit. Learn how to get prepared for a disaster at this event.

Now let's name our winners. Congratulations to Ruckus Eskie, Jessica B., Jason D., Kt Amanda, Deanna T., and Jeannette S. You'll hear from AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com tonight. Please reply promptly with your shipping address and your book will be shipped next week. Happy reading!

It's time to start your plan. If you have children who enjoy reading, and love dogs, this is your chance to score some Summer reading material. Your kids definitely need to keep reading throughout the summer to maintain their level and build their enjoyment of reading for pleasure.

Today's giveaway intro includes dog stories that are written for kids reading at about the 2nd grade level. The titles are Shelter Dog Blues, Doggy Day Care, and The Puppy Place. There will be a continuing stream of kids' dog stories given out throughout the summer, so put the word out to your friends with children. I have a variety of levels and types of books available. Watch for more to come.

To Enter: Each of you must enter once by comment. You may all enter daily by Tweet. I'll check both and draw from all at Random.org. Leave your comment below, telling me how you found this giveaway and who will get the books if you win. Your input will help me in planning future giveaways.

Four Dog Poetry Books for Kids
These adorable poetry books, From the Doghouse: Poems to Chew On, will definitely spark the imaginations of youngsters. The illustrations caught my attention as classic images with fun layout. I hope my four winners--one copy per person--will love them for what they are, beautiful poetry to celebrate the dog lover in your child.

I'm keeping this one short and sweet--comments and tweets. You only have to enter once to have a chance to win. Additional entries are optional. Best of luck to everyone!

Dog Books for Kids:
A Giveaway for Early Readers

Tanner Shows Off
 Some of Our Collection
Truth be told, I'm part of a book-loving family. Even the dogs enjoy being read to. I know that sounds weird, but it's true. They love the audio books I play when we take a trip! It's almost as soothing to them as Lisa Spector's Through a Dog's Ear CD's for the canine household.

Today's giveaway announcement is for families with early readers. The 4 books I will give to one winner are beginner reading, so they are appropriate for many children from Kindergarten through first or second grade.

One winner will be chosen by Random.org. To be eligible, you must have a North American address (with the exception of Quebec--their laws are tough for small giveaways like this) and be 18 or older. This offer is void where prohibited.

Subscriptions to All Things Dog Blog are a great way to follow our continuing book and dog product giveaways. You can select email (our most popular option), RSS, Google Friend Connect, or Networked Blogs. If you subscribe in any of these ways you may count this as an entry to win by following up with a comment telling me you have subscribed. Thanks!

If you have a family member or child that would enjoy these books, I'd love to hear from you. Enter daily by comment here (Tweets are appreciated, but must be followed up by a comment to count in the drawing) and tell us about your dogs, your kids and how they enjoy one another. I look forward to your comments. If you want extra credit comments, here's a few ideas:

  • Retweet
  • Hit the Google+ button (top of the post)
  • Subscribe to our blog
  • Send me a picture of your dog reading or being read to: AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com.
  • Be sure to register each of these entries with an "I did this" entry in our comments section.
Entries close Thursday, August 11 at 5 PM sharp. I'll announce the winner of the books on late Friday afternoon. See you then!
