Please Craft for a Shelter Dog

Sometimes I'm just blown away by the creative ideas that I see in the pet blogging world. Today is one of those days. A fellow pet blogger, Erika Lundquist of SewDoggyStyle.com, is always coming up with clever ways to use her craftiness. Today she's initiating a new way for all of us to help shelters by realizing that we can promote adoption with our crafts.

Today is National Craft for Your
Local Shelters Day
Rescue pets often need a little help in appealing to visitors. Try a bandana with "Adopt Me" on it, or any lovable or emotion-evoking caption, to attract more attention from would-be forever families. You can even make needed things for shelter pets like beds, toys or leashes. It's not about what you do, but more about THAT you do it. Pat yourself on the back if you're able to help.

Today, our friend Erika has launched National Craft for your Local Shelters Day. She has big plans and tons of ideas and energy. Won't you help? Visit her site to learn more about what you can do to help shelter pets. Tanner and Oliver thank you; I do too!

I am thinking about using my "craft" of photography to help shelter pets. I also hear something at BlogPaws about the "sprucing up" of cold-looking shelter kennels helps prospective owners connect with pets....so this is great.

Thank you for posting this! I will certainly be checking out her site, and looking into Craft for Your Local Shelters Day. I think I am going to mention it on my blog as well to help spread the word :) (stopping in from the blog hop)
