Toby's profile has been removed from Petfinder.com, indicating to me that he has found a home. That's wonderful news, meaning that 2 Petfinder adoptables were adopted during the Super Dog Sunday™ charity event; Hunter was also adopted a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to everyone who helped to bring this about, and for all of your participation.

I hope you all enjoyed watching the thumbnail images of Super Dog Sunday. I had a few questions about viewing. You can actually click on them to see a larger view. But today I've got a fun surprise--a slideshow! Half of our entries are shared here (including some of my own furry family's pics). The other half will appear on DogTipper.com, so be sure to watch their slideshow also, so you don't miss a single one of these adorable photos.

As a late addition to this, I thought you would enjoy seeing this cute video. We did not include videos in the contest, but Rocco wanted to show off his hiking skills anyway. Be sure to watch for a good laugh:
Before I go, I want you all to know that we learned of Hunter's adoption last week. He was featured in the Super Dog Sunday™ photo contest as a Petfinder adoptable. We also received word of several donations in addition to those of your sponsors and hosts. Petfinder Foundation is thrilled with any and all help--anytime. It's never to late to help a shelter animal, so feel free to donate here in Honor of Super Dog Sunday™, if you can.

Finally, please join me in thanking our Platinum Sponsor, Nature's Logic, for donating generously to Petfinder Foundation, and helping us to promote animals in need of finding a forever home. Now go hug your pets and remind them of how lucky they are!

Thanks again to all of you who participated in the contest. We had a great time watching all the fun photos. Stay tuned for word on next year's event and start looking for cool, new photo ideas. I wonder what Tanner and Oliver will come up with next?

Super Dog Sunday™ has been brought to you by Event Barkers, a partnership of All Things Dog Blog and DogTipper.com. This event was 100% for charity, benefitting Petfinder Foundation. We covered all expenses ourselves and donated additional funds to help the cause. Nature's Logic's donation went directly to Petfinder Foundation and no fees were paid to Event Barkers.

#SuperDogSunday Winner Announcements!
When the final decisions were handed to Paris and I the judges looked like two very tired folks. Between trying to enjoy the game and also working to bring us decisions, this was one very tough volunteer position for both of our judges. Every charity event needs volunteers, and ours worked awfully hard for their beer and pretzels!

I'm sure you're all wondering who scores the great loot. First, let me give a full description of the prizes. As indicated in an earlier post, the bulk of the prize value comes from our Platinum Sponsor, Nature's Logic. Each of the first 6 winners will receive about $65-$70 in Nature's Logic foods for their dog to enjoy--a variety of flavors that includes kibble and canned.

In addition to the array of Nature's Logic flavors, Event Barkers is tossing in some goodies also. These winners will each snag a football toy for Fido (sized appropriately for most dogs), a doggie bandana sized for your dog, and a pet rescue coloring book for the children in your life.

Our Best All Around Cat winner will score the following great prizes, along with a rescue coloring book, kitty treats, and a copy of Barkonomics--great ideas for saving money on pet products and services. The cat carrier is made by Sherpa and is truly a beautiful bag that our winner will be proud to use. An assortment of toys has been hand-selected by our friends at CatTipper.com, where cats know that they can be Super Dogs also!

Finally, the Best All Around Dog winner scores a major haul like our cat winner above. In addition to the items pictured below, this lucky Fido will receive a Luv and Emma door-hanger towel for cleanups on the front step, an extra special football toy for great indoor and outdoor fun, the pet rescue coloring book that's sure to thrill the children in the family, a bottle of Nature's Logic Sardine Oil for skin and coat health, and more than $100 in Nature's Logic dog food. WOW!
Are you drooling yet? Tanner is! Let's get to naming our winners:
  1. PreTweet winner (chosen from Tweets using the #SuperDogSunday hashtag): @babymarohn. Please follow @EventBarkers and watch for a DM.
  2. Social Media winner (chosen from entries in the Giveaway Tools widget here): Candie L.
  3. Cutest pet photo: Bella, No. 17
  4. Most Original pet photo: Echo, No. 69. (Click to see this adoptable Ferret!)
  5. Best Decked Out Pet Photo: Dobby, No. 71
  6. Best Decked Out Petfinder Adoptable: Joey, No. 72 (click to see his profile)
  7. Best All Around Cat Entry: Hayley, No 81
  8. Best All Around Dog Entry: Pepper, No. 24 (click to see her profile)
Participants who submitted these adorable winners will be notified pronto and should reply quickly to assure their prizes can be shipped with the rest of the group. Watch for your email from EventBarkers@gmail.com, or feel free to write to us if you see this announcement and believe you are a winner.

Tommorrow we'll be featuring a photo slideshow of the pictures that were submitted. Half will appear here on All Things Dog Blog, and half will be viewable on DogTipper.com. Be sure to enjoy this show where you'll be able to see all the photos in full size. Watch for many great entries like Indy the referee and Toby the kitten, samples seen above.
We'd like to thank our Platinum Sponsor, Nature's Logic, for their generous donation to Petfinder Foundation. We also want to thank the foundation for all their support in promoting our event. They have been wonderful to work with and we're proud to have given these adoptable Petfinder animals an extra chance at finding a forever home. Perhaps our entry listings will still continue this work and more homes will be found. We did learn that Hunter, the Golden Retriever at entry number 10, found a forever home last weekend. We're so happy for Hunter and know that you all share in our joy!

Just as important, we also wish to thank you all for your participation. Without your photo entries, we would have had no contest. YOU made it happen! We look forward to seeing you again next year. If you're already contemplating your costuming options, you may want to check out the giveaway running here on All Things Dog Blog through Valentine's Day. Best wishes!

Pet Conference Tote Bag Winners

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Hang in there Tanner
Naptime is Coming!

My heart grew warmer when I read the last entry at this rather random giveaway:

"There is no such thing as having too many reusable bags especially when you live where plastic ones are not allowed anymore."
And speaking of random, that's where I just visited--Random.org. This site is very handy for selecting winners. My comments are numbered, to allow me to use this method when not employing a Rafflecopter.

Thanks to all of you who are making an effort to go without plastic. The winners of this week's reusable pet industry tote bags are @Brumzoo, @SharonGilbert6, @Cstironkat, @drellis500, amyorvin and @carleann1.

I'll shoot a Tweet to each of you with an email to send your address to. You'll receive the bag about a week after I get your address.

Happy tails,

Tote bags were provided free of charge from various pet product and service vendors at conferences I have attended. I was not compensated to promote their brands and not obligated to give them away.

Pet Prizes! First Quarter Winners...

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Abby
At the end of each quarter I have a little fun playing Santa Claus. Today's the day! Two prizes are drawn. One is from photos I have received from winners like Abby, seen here. She won a package of Flush Puppies and an All Things Dog Blog bandana.

I count the photos in the submission file and then visit Random.org to select a numeric winner. Abby's number came up today and I'll let her mom know they have won a nice prize for Abby, and mom too.

Abby and her mom will be receiving a set of collapsible, travel bowls and a baseball cap, perfect for Spring and Summer hikes or dog park outings. We hope they both enjoy their gifts.

Our second winner comes from comments in our Weekly Wag bonding series that is posted on Saturdays. I probably could have found a better way to collect these comments, but forethought was on vacation.

Thankfully, I'm able to pull up a list of all Weekly Wag posts and then tally the comments. Whew!  It was no great surprise that the winner is from a post that struck a chord with quite a few of you. Rick will get a big box of Greenies for his description of how Steel gets the best of him from time to time. Thanks Rick!

I hope you'll all visit the Weekly Wag post where Rick's comment is to enjoy the silliness of my Golden Retriever, Tanner. The title is How My Dog Outsmarted Me, and yes, he did. The good news is that since that post was written back in January, I have gotten a better handle on the situation. He's not cured of this behavior yet, but we've made a good bit of progress. Go mom!

If you'd like to get in on this prize fun each quarter, you need only follow the lead of these two winners. If you score a prize from All Things Dog Blog, simply send in a photo of your pet with the prize, just like Abby's above. This puts you in the winners' circle drawing each quarter, and you remain there until you win something.

The second category you can win in is the Weekly Wag comments. Each weekend I share
tips for bonding with your dog and inspiration and stories that are related to bonding. A quarterly winner is drawn from these comments. It's that easy!  What's more, you needn't wait for Saturday. you can go to any of our Weekly Wag posts and leave a comment anytime, and it will still be in the running for a prize drawing. I include all Weekly Wag posts when I draw the winners. That said, let's get commenting!

Happy tails,

Fourth Quarter
Winners Announcements!

Here we are again, the first of a new year. New Years is an especially inspiring time when many people set new goals and look forward to adding new activities to their dog loving lifestyle. Today I get to announce the winners of three quarterly drawings. Each will win a prize package of goodies to take them into the New Year with style--a MANKINDdog backpack, a travel water bottle, a Gamma 2 Vittles Vault Jr. pet food container, a package of treats from our assortment, an All Things Dog Blog bandana for looking good, and a package of Flushpuppies. Can you guess what you and your pup will be up to? Sounds like a hike will be in your plans, just as soon as the weather cooperates in your area.

Blue Shows Off his Loot

Our quarterly winners circle drawing from All Things Dog Blog winners' photos submitted is a double dipper. This winner grabs a prize for sending in their photo after a giveaway or other event that involves a prize. You could win next quarter if you send in a pic of your pup with their prize won from an All Things Dog Blog giveaway.

Our second All Things Dog Blog winner is from the Weekly Wag participants who have signed up at the opening post. It appears that has been a challenging request, so watch for a simpler entry method this year, starting on Saturday, January 12.

This quarter's winners at All Things Dog Blog are C. Duarte  and J. Diamond. They'll receive an email from AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com within the next 24 hours and need to reply with shipping information.

Daisy Says Thanks to Event Barkers
Our Event Barkers partnership with Dogtipper.com also has a quarterly winners circle drawing to encourage our winners to share their photos. With all the Twitter Parties we've done in the last year, we had quite a list of winners to select from.

We'd like to say a very special thank you to Gamma 2 for providing the Vittles Vaults that are included in these prize packages. These containers are wonderful for travel and perfect for small pets. They are made in the USA out of BPA-free plastic and come with an airtight lid and a measuring cup that doubles as a bowl when needed. We are proud to have helped Gamma 2 promote their products at our #Gamma2Fresh Twitter Party.

This quarter's Event Barkers winner is Liz B. who sent in this photo of her dog, Daisy, as a thank you. Isn't it wonderful to see that she shared her prize with a rescue?

Daisy will get all the prizes in the photo at the top, along with a coloring book from Dogtipper and Cattipper for a youngster in her life. Tanner and Oliver are showing off this prize below. Enjoy Daisy!
