Tommy Bahama Goes to the Dogs

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

What do you think about Oliver's latest wardrobe additions? You can pick one of these Tommy Bahama shirts up at PetSmart in a variety of styles to suit your pup. But don't think this is just for your fella. Your saucy gal can get into Tommy also with 100 different items available through their online store. It has never been so easy to kick back and live the good life.

This new Tommy Bahama line is absolutely perfect for Hawaiian Luaus, picnics, and Summer cookouts that are casual and fun.

Sizing alert. These shirts are all size Small, and I thought they looked like a perfect fit for Oliver. Much to my chagrin, they are a tad tight through the shoulders, where Oliver is tiny. No broad chest on this little guy. I'd suggest going a size larger than you normally would buy, when selecting in this brand.

If your pup is under 8 lbs, he'll likely be able to fit into one of these ultra cute casual shirts. I only have these available, so please don't enter unless you have an XS pup.

Enter by leaving a comment on your pup's typical shirt size and weight, along with a Twitter handle to contact you with if you win. Not on Twitter? Drop me an email at AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com with your contact info after you leave your Fido's size and weight on the blog. I'll use the numbered posts for drawing on this giveaway.

Entries will continue through

I could use a little help getting the word out on this one, since all 4 shirts are Size XS. Can you give me a quick RT of the Tweet below:
Feel free to Repeat the Tweet daily. Entries will run through June 13 and prizes will be awarded on Friday evening, June 14. Thanks much for the Tweet and good luck,

Winners, Winners & More Winners!

by Carrie Boyko, CEB
My Xena Preserved
 for Eternity by Nate :)

Friday evenings are such fun at All Things Dog Blog. This time is set aside to announce winners of many of our giveaways, so it's rather like pet lover payday, only with surprise bonuses! Today I've got a bundle of goodies, so I'll be breaking the announcements up into two blog posts. Be sure to check the other one to make sure you haven't missed the winners' names.

Our artist's illustration by Nate Fakes of Cartoon Your Pets was a huge hit. So big, in fact, that Nate has offered a 20% discount through Sunday, October 14 for all orders from his site. Just mention "All Things Dog" and you'll get this discount, or you may ask Nate to donate it to the ASPCA on your behalf. Today's winners are Amy Beth M. and Nancy W. You'll be notified by my AllThingsDogBlog@gmail.com account.

Ready to Rock, Oliver?
Our PetSmart giveaway of Bret Michaels designs are just in time for Biketoberfest. These biker and rocker looks are just too cool to stay here at my office, so our winners will be enjoying them for Halloween and beyond. Congratulations to Jennifer H. for winning the leather leash and also to Alicia M.   for getting a super cool leatherette vest with beautiful embroidery work. These pups are going to be looking cool for sure!

Once again, be sure to check out our other winners' post to see who else was lucky this week, and stop by our Giveaways Listing, always at the menu bar, to check out the other goodies up for grabs. Have a great weekend!

A sample .jpg of my dog, Xena, was provided for review of Nate Fake's work. I was not compensated to review it or to run these giveaways for Cartoon Your Pets or PetSmart. No purchase was required to win.

Ready For Bike Week
It's time for another fun dog Giveaway just in time for Halloween. Anyone like Bret Michaels? Well if you do and you don't already know, Bret Michaels has his own brand of dog accessories sold at PetSmart! I've been lucky enough to receive a few of these products to give away to 2 lucky winners! These are genuine Bret Michaels design as well, totally rock'n'roll style!

First we have this adorable rock n roll pet jacket that Oliver is wearing in the photo to the right. It's a size medium, but Oliver wore it quite comfortably' as well, at 10 lbs. So my guess would be any dog from 10 - 20 lbs could wear this, and look mighty adorable.
Second we have a very nice Bret Michaels dog leash made from real leather embroidered with red stitching for an extra edge.

In order to win these fantastic pet prizes all you have to do is enter in the rafflecopter below. If you would like to see more from Bret Michaels pet brand and/or PetSmart visit their website, facebook page, and follow them on Twitter.

Entries may be made on the Rafflecopter form at the bottom of this post. If you don't see it, simply click on the post title to refresh and it will magically reappear beneath the post.

Entries will be accepted through October 11 and winners will be announced late on Friday,  October 12. Good luck! Good luck!

PetSmart has provided these products as a promotional opportunity. I have not been compensated to provide this review or giveaway. The thoughts included here are my own. No purchase is required to win.

Help Castor & Pollux Fight Canine and Children's Cancer Research

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Bentley

Earlier this year at Global Pet Expo I met a new flat pet. His name was Bentley. For those of you that don't know what a Flat Pet is, use your imagination. It's a cutout cardboard image of a pet that uses a stand to participate in photos when his real self cannot be present. Below is flat Tiki, my friend Paris's dog.

While I did not get to meet the real Bentley, you can! Keep reading to learn how. I suppose I should create a flat Oliver and flat Tanner, but right now I want to share with you some of Bentley's story. You see, Bentley is in a very special Great Dane. He's in the running at the Guinness Book of World Records for the Tallest Dog as well as the Tallest Service Dog. In a partnership with Castor and Pollux and PetSmart, Bentley is touring the U.S. to help raise awareness of fund raising efforts for children's cancer as well as canine cancer research.

Bentley's family member, Chase, is a young boy who has survived cancer. Many service dogs have visited Chase during his treatments and recovery, and Bentley is now a certified service dog as well. Their story inspired Castor and Pollux to get involved in this effort and tour the U.S. to get the word out.

Bentley has already visited PetSmart stores in Phoenix, Omaha, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Los Angeles and San Diego. Visitors who joined Bentley for these events and bought a Castor and Pollux product helped Castor and Pollux donate money to CureSearch for Children's Cancer and the National Canine Cancer Foundation. Castor and Pollux has committed a minimum donation of $25,000 to each of these foundations by the end of 2012. That's a huge WOW that I'm proud to be a small part of through my association with Castor and Pollux.

You can meet Bentley at one of his upcoming tour stops to learn more about canine cancer research and how you can help. Upcoming stops include:

  • Sept. 15: San Francisco
  • Sept. 16: Sacramento
  • Sept. 22: Denver
  • Oct. 20: Chicago
  • Oct. 21 Minneapolis
  • December 1: Phoenix
  • December 2: Albuquerque
To learn more about Bentley, Chase, canine cancer and these efforts, please visit Heel Cancer to read more. We encourage you to help in any way you can.
