Giveaway: Visibility Vests for Dog Hikes

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Visible During a Hiking Break
The lightweight visibility vests I've reviewed and am now going to give away, have proven to be cool enough for warm weather hikes like the one photographed here. It was 86 degrees outside and even Tanner, my always loving chilly weather dog, was feeling chipper and enjoying the hike. That was a great sign that the vest was not overdone. It's just large enough to make him visible, but not so imposing as to turn him into a billboard. Perfect!

Now that we've enjoyed sharing our thoughts, we've been cleared to give away 3 vests to our readers. Calling all hikers; it's time to rally for the safety of your pups.Tell your club members and friends that we've got this safety event going on and our goal is to find homes for 3 visibility vests.

The Rafflecopter entry form will be open for your entries through midnight Thursday, October 23. I'll announce the winners on Friday afternoon, October 24. Prizes will be shipped to our winners after I receive shipping details from each.

One last detail. The Rafflecopter entry form could use a Visibility Vest! Sometimes it's hiding, so here's a tip on how to find it: click the post title above. That's it, and the Rafflecopter will pop to attention and allow you to select your entries of choice.

Remember to keep it fun, using only those entry methods that you love doing.

What's my favorite entry method to see on this end? It's always fun to watch the Tweets coming through. Gold Paw needs a little coaxing to get onto Twitter, so you get to help. This time I'm going to give you a chance to share your dog's hiking photos in this giveaway, so grab your cameras and have some fun.

Not into entering giveaways? No problem. You can order your vest online at Gold Paw or find a store near you at this link.

Good luck!

I use Facebook and Google+. Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest confuse me and I can't find a 14 year old to explain it!

I would say Facebook, twitter and pinterest are the best social media sites to use.

Facebook is the only social media platform I use for following businesses/companies.

I'm most likely to see posts from blogs and companies via e-mail. The one social media site I frequent the most is Facebook, but I'm very involved in animal rescue so the vast majority of my 4700+ friends there are involved in animal rescue so I often miss things coming through my feed. Again, I'm almost positive to see anything that I get an e-mail notification of, but the next best place to get my attention is Facebook.

I think you should try Twitter! You gets lots of hits and it spreads fast to more people. I also think You Tube would be great to show your products in action. It helps people she them how they would actually use it.

I suggest using Instagram for posting pictures of pups wearing Gold Paw Series products. I love looking at pictures on Instagram :)

Hi For Gold Paws folks, you really should consider all of the suggested social media outlets and then place the buttons on your own site. Pinterest boards not only with photos provided by you of dogs modeling the vests, but encourage owners to send their photos too. YouTube vides you can make yourself. Have a different person man the twitter feed each day and don't over-do it (5 tweets a day from any site is a lot). You can also use Twitter as a customer service communication tool. All of this stuff is free too! In any case I wish you luck - woof!

Instagram is another place where you can post photos of dogs wearing the vests - and it's Halloween soon so these vests aren't just good for hiking outings but to keep doggie safe while Trick or Treating. Again, create a hash tag and have users post their own dog picks in the vests too. It's great publicity, and it's all free!

Twitter is fun and fast so that would be great to use. You can also attach links to your products or pictures.

Make simple YouTube videos yourself of the dogs not just hiking, but trick or treating (or just walking city streets at night) or out in the rain in the vests.

Pinterest is my favorite social media site. I have numerous boards devoted to pets and pet products and often share my faves with my followers.

Pinterest is a great social media tool! I have a folder/board for pets and pet products I love and/or want and have the most followers on this board. There are so many people on Pinterest with the same interests :) so this would be something I would really recommend using.

I also do use Pinterest - and am using it more now than I did just a few months ago. It's a great social network for highlighting products (recipes, crafts, etc., too).

I prefer facebook or pinterest. I'm not a fan of twitter, and don't use g+ all that much.

All of the social media sites are great for connecting with consumers. I would probably start with Facebook and go from there. If there is some expertise with videos then I think youtube is good as well.
