Wag: A New Way for Dog Lovers to Bank

I met my contact at Wag online at our #BarkFriday Twitter party, where they were @DogLoversBank. It was random and hurried, but we later had an opportunity to catch up and get acquainted. I remember a million questions running through my mind: "What is a Dog Lover's Bank, exactly?" Here's their mission to get us started:
At Wag, our mission is to help dog fanatics and their dogs
enjoy the best possible life together.

When I read over their website and discovered their dedication to charitable giving, I knew Super Dog Sunday™ was the right fit for them, and the rest, as they say, is history. Wag was immediately excited about a donation to Petfinder Foundation, bringing their concept to dog lovers, and where to find dog lovers but a pet photo contest for football lovers!

Wag is in the process of putting all the pieces of a complete online bank together; starting a new banking brand is no small task. Connecting with you--dog lovers extraordinaire--is one of their primary goals. Partnering with an existing bank, Wag will be the front end of this online financial institution, offering dog-loving customer service in many ways. They will become another in a growing group of Internet banks such as ING Direct, Ally Bank and E-trade Bank, where you can handle your financial needs from your computer as Fido snoozes on your lap or at your feet.

Need a loan for your grooming business? Check out Wag. Want to find resources and money-saving ideas for dog lovers? Consult Wag. What's really cool is that the folks at Wag seem to understand our need to keep our dog's life at the center of our own. You'll be dealing with dog-friendly people who can relate to these needs and respond with help when you're looking for a dog-friendly insurance agent or an investment advisor who takes her dog to work.

Wag is currently busy building this network, a directory of places for you to turn for the perfect referral when you want Fido's needs to be considered and understood. They plan to open with basic services in 2013, adding services as their membership grows. You won't be working with a massive, "take a number" sort of organization though. They plan to cap their initial membership at 1500, to assure quality service and a community of fanatical dog-lovers that can continue to grow with Wag.

Resources offered on Wag's site are already beginning to take hold, and Wag plans to continue to grow this feature of their service. Check out Secrets of a Working Dog: Unleash Your Potential and Create Success. This book teaches people to live balanced, successful lives using the techniques adopted by dogs of all sizes. Watch for copies of this cool book as prizes at our Super Dog Sunday™ photo contest and blog hop, co-hosted with Dogtipper.

If you're anything like me, you may have more questions about this unique concept. You can learn more at their website and their Facebook page. Also watch for @DogLoverBank at our #SuperDogPics Twitter Party January 22. While I'm busy giving away prizes, you can chat it up with @DogLoversBank. And don't forget to RSVP so you can win one of dozens of prizes to be handed out.

Before I close, just a quick reminder. You can keep up with Wag's progress and news by subscribing to their updates in the upper right column of their website. You also have the option of RSS subscribing. With all these resources at your disposal, why not check out Wag. Your dog will likely enjoy warming your lap, or perhaps your feet, while you do. Want to join? You can do that too.
Enjoy a rich life with your pack

Neat concept. I love people who get that my dogs are super important to me. Services that understand that definitely have a big market to be tapped.
